Grants and donations We are funded through grants and individual donations for which we are very grateful. The following organisations have provided grant funding for our work – our thanks to all involved for their much valued support:
Current Grants:
Migrant Help Space4U has received a Skills Grant of £3,000 from Migrant Help. This grant will fund our English classes for people who are asylum seekers and refugees for six months from October 2025. The grant will help our classes with the transition to our new home at Trinity Centre in 2026.
Space4U has received £20,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund! The grant will help to fund the cost of rent from September 2025. It has secured the future of the Space4U drop-in for the next two years and will help us to adapt and grow in our new long-term home. Space4U has received a grant of £6,000 from Community Foundation Wales – Fund for Wales, supported by the People’s Postcode Lottery. The grant will support the cost of rent for our clothes store at St German’s Church Hall on Monday mornings, helping to keep the service running over the next three years to June 2028.

Volunteer with us If you are interested in volunteering at Space4U please complete a contact form on this website and we will get back to you. Space4U is entirely run by volunteers and we regularly look for new volunteers to help us with our work. As well as helping with the general running of our drop-in sessions we also recruit volunteers to help with registration, running the coffee bar, English practice, recreational activities, and for our clothes and food stores.
Donate food and toiletries You can also help by donating food and toiletries. We are particularly in need of the following items of food: oil, sugar, tins of tomatoes, tins of tuna, tins of chick peas, tins of red kidney beans, baked beans, rice, jars of pasta sauce, tinned fruit, cereals, fruit juice, long-life milk, coffee and tea. We also welcome donations of toiletries (unopened items): shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shower gel, soap, hand lotion, deodorant, toilet rolls, razors, period products and laundry washing tablets. Donate clothing We welcome donations of clothes, shoes and trainers in clean and good condition for men, women and children. Backpacks and suitcases in good working condition are also needed. We are also pleased to accept duvets, bedding and towels in clean and good condition. Please contact us using the contact form on this website to arrange a donation.
Please contact us before bringing any donations to Space4U. We have limited storage space and are unable to accept donations outside of our opening hours.
